there's a tip of Cloud's head, a glance, and after a moment he slowly says:

"I don't know. The war - they took my memories. I fought in a place that was just fragments of other places and times cobbled together. I don't know what - "

Planet... the Planet is screaming, Cloud... can you hear it?

"I don't know."

[maytheforce]

"They took your memories?" Was the Force used on this warrior or something else? His senses were dulled and he was finding it hard to pinpoint.

it wasn't so strange, where Cloud came from before this. Now, for the first time, he felt vaguely self-conscious. He shrugged his shoulder and looked ahead, doing his usual routine of pretending not to care.

"They took everyone's memories. When the gods took us from our worlds - they didn't want anything getting in the way of their war, I guess."

[maytheforce]

"Gods? They're real?" Anakin looked so shocked, he focused on that one thing.

[losthere]

Cloud looked over at the man next to him. It hadn't occurred to him that there would be a place that didn't believe in gods but -

he wouldn't know. He didn't remember any life beyond the war. If he had, would he have been surprised about gods too?

"One of them killed me."

[maytheforce]

"..." Anakin was actually speechless for long moment. "I have never heard of anything like that before."

"There aren't any gods where you come from?"
